With the release of the new zappi (version 2) we've created a separate area on the forum specifically for the new product. This will help us separate advice, the wish list and of course any bug reports.
Please help us and your fellow zappi enthusiasts by making sure you are posting in the right area when you want to share a message about your zappi

Hi. I had a Zappi2 installed last week.

When the car is not connected the display showed as 0.9kw from the solar panels, house using 0.2kw and 0.7kw being exported.

Then I plugged in the car and used the eco++ setting. the display showed 0.8kw from panels, house using 6.4 and 0.8kw being exported. I imagine the 6.4kw was from the car charging. The charging info looks like the car is being charged at 6.5kw. How can i be exporting and charging the car? Is the car charging at 6.5Kw on eco+?

Later the charger shows as waiting for surplus.

This happened on two separate occasions.

I know that the generation from the panels was low so I don't know if this explains what I was seeing. Is there a setting that's not right? I'd expected the car not to be charging on eco plus plus when the amount being generated from the panels was so low.

I've also attached photos of the car charging in eco+ and fast modes. Both of these also show the car charging at 6.5Kw

Could you explain what these photos show?

        Any help much appreciated

Hmm, it looks like you are always exporting power, so Zappi will obviously increase the charge rate. This is a bit suspicious. Could you check your grid CT configuration & install ?

For example, if you're exporting 0.5W and if you turn ON a kettle, you should see an import of 2.5kW isch. Or you can start a charge in ECO and see a 1kW import.

            Hi,

I had my Zappi 2 installed today. I had a similiar issue to Pipc72 but it cleared up after I re-booted although I had to do it several times. Please see the photo attached. Also the spring catch on my tethered unit broke immediately after the first use. Not very good. The installer (EVi UK) was excellent and he did warn me about this weakness but I did not expect it to be so fragile that it is practically unusable. Come on guys, its a great unit but you can do better than this. I think the unit is great but the manual supplied for the Update process must be for the Zappi 1 as it bore no relation to the switches on the Zappi 2. I did download the latest firmware to the Hub as instructed and found the bootloader menu in the Advanced options on the Zappi. Clicked on that and it said that No firmware was available for Model 3650? I could not get out of that option and had to switch off at the circuit breaker to re-boot. The firmware version in my Zappi 2 is 2.105 and I am guessing this is the latest?

              Hi. Thanks for the reply.

There is currently no PV generation during any of these tests. It's the evening and raining!

I did the kettle test. Photos of app attached. Shows import of 3.3 Kw. Zappi photo shows Zappi screen with car unplugged. Then I plug in the car in Eco mode and it starts to charge at 1.7Kw, then I change to Eco+ and it charges at 1.5Kw For both of these it looks like it's importing 0.1Kw from the grid - unless I've misunderstood what the screen shows

Then I change it to Fast and it shows charging of 6.4Kw (figure above pylon icon still shows 0.1Kw)

House shows a smiley face throughout all of this.
I then change to Eco plus and Eco and charge drops a little but not a lot.

Can you shed any more light on this?

If I need to reboot it, how do I do that?

Sorry to hear that you had issues with the dummy socket. It could be the spring that slides away of the center of the button, it should not be like this. PM me your details or contact [emailprotected] so we arrange this for you.

There is no firmware available for the Zappi2 for now, we are still working on it. We hope to release an update this Friday. New firmware notes will be available on this forum.

Your Grid reading is constant during the whole test when it shouldn't. Can I ask you if you're using the Harvi to measure the import/export ? You can also check for a '?' in the Linked Devices Info, which would indicate some transmission problems.
You can reset the Zappi by pressing the left button in while being in the Main Menu for 3s.

                    Thanks

How do I know if I'm using the Harvi to measure. I have a Harvi installed so assume I am.

The linked devices show that the Hub, Harvi and Zappi are linked.

Also, I have just checked my Immersun unit (soon to be replaced by the Eddi) and it's showing me as exporting.

                      Hi

It now looks like my Immersun is showing that I'm importing electricity when I'm exporting it

You are exporting at 10pm at night ! Have you discovered PV that works with the moonlight ?
That's probably the issue. The CT may be installed the wrong way round. You can see the Harvi readings by selecting it in the Linked Devices menu or by checking "Grid Sensor" in the information screen page 2.
