His daughter, Tracy, her husband, Gary Goggans of Pawleys Island, SC, and his beloved pup, Cali, were with him when he took his final breath. She grew up in the Oshkosh area and frequently shared fond memories of the farming community there. Soon after high school graduation, Betty moved to Chicago, where she worked as a manuscript typist at multiple companies downtown and played softball in a semi-professional women's league.
