Updated on December 30, 2023 by Gabrielle Castania: Since we wrote our original list of the highest-paying jobs in The Sims 4, there have been several new game packs that have added new careers to The Sims 4, restructured pay scales, and changed various things about the list of the best careers. 10 Business Tycoon
Daily Pay | §3,000 |
---|---|
Career Track | Business - Management |
Pack | Base Game |
Those Sims who find themselves naturally Logical and Charismatic may do well to pursue the Management branch of the Business career. Focused on conducting business and all the daily ins and outs that come with it, your Sim may have started in the mailroom, but they'll be business owners before they know it.
At the highest level of the Management track in the Business career, your Sim works four days each week for only eight hours a day, totaling out to them putting in a 32-hour workweek for that hefty a payout!
9 Mr. Or Mrs. Solar System
Daily Pay | §3,000 |
---|---|
Career Track | Athlete - Bodybuilder |
Pack | Base Game |
One of two careers in the Athlete branch, the final level of the Bodybuilder career makes a striking amount more than their Pro Athlete counterparts - more than §1,000 per shift more than them, in fact. And for requiring the same skills with Fitness and Charisma, unless you're doing it for the storytelling aspect, choosing the Bodybuilder career path stands to earn you some serious cash.
Not only that, but your Bodybuilder Sim will only need to work four days a week, with each shift lasting a scant six hours total each day. That much cash for only 24 hours of work each week isn't anything to sneeze at!
Use your free time to maintain your Fitness and Charisma skills.
8 The Boss
Daily Pay | §3,115 |
---|---|
Career Track | Criminal - Boss |
Pack | Base Game |
Sure, there's plenty of risk involved with the Criminal career in The Sims 4 - your Sim needs to be both sneaky and dastardly, with both the Mischief and Handiness skills required to advance to the top of your Sim's crime syndicate.
But once your brave, bold Sim has taken over the criminal underworld and has been promoted to The Boss, they'll work four days each week, still working at night to total a 28-hour workweek. Not only that, but the rewards your Sim will unlock as they become even more devious working through the Criminal career are some of the coolest in the game.
7 Preeminent Partner
Daily Pay | §3,150 |
---|---|
Career Track | Law - Private Attorney |
Pack | Discover University |
There are quite a few necessities to get in order before your Sim can become an attorney in the Discover University expansion. First, they'll need to get a University degree in one of a few different subjects, and they'll also need to Pass the Lawyer's Exam before they can be promoted to the point where they get to choose their specialty.

Every Sims 4 Expansion Pack, Ranked
Like all previous games, The Sims 4 comes with a variety of expansion packs. We've ranked the expansions from the worst to the best.
And those Sims best versed in both Charisma and Research & Debate do best in the Private Attorney branch of the Law career. They work four days a week, totaling a 28-hour workweek centered around representing clients to the best of their ability.
6 City Master Planner
Daily Pay | §3,150 |
---|---|
Career Track | Civil Designer - Civic Planner |
Pack | Eco Lifestyle |
The Neighborhood Action Plan addition in The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle can be a contentious one, with the whims of your neighboring Sims influencing how your neighborhood behaves on a weekly basis. And if your Sim has had enough of just going along with the crowd, they'll do well in the Civic Planner branch of the Civil Designer career.
Centered on gaining influence with your neighbors and working to better your neighborhood, your Sim will, at the top level of their Civic Planning career, work only four days a week for a total of 36 hours a week. They'll need to be both Logical and Charismatic to succeed here, so building these skills along the way is advised.
5 Spin Doctor
Daily Pay | §3,171 |
---|---|
Career Track | Social Media - Public Relations |
Pack | City Living |
The Social Media career in the City Living expansion branches off pretty early, at the promotion to Level Four, but that's because your Sim will need to decide if they're in front of the camera or pulling the strings behind the scenes. And the Sims who go into the PR track of the Social Media career wind up earning a pretty hefty paycheck.
Working only four days a week and putting in a 28-hour workweek, your Sim will not only earn their sweet paycheck for their work and Social Media notoriety, but you'll also be able to influence other Sims to do things according to your whim. You'll need to be well-versed in the Charisma and Writing skills, but putting those skills to work is worth its weight in Simoleons.
4 Business Tycoon
Daily Pay | §3,248 |
---|---|
Career Track | Business - Investor |
Pack | Base Game |
Though their Management track counterparts made their own appearance a bit higher up on our list, those ultra business-savvy Sims who've pursued the Investor career path when being promoted to Level Seven of the Business career stand to earn a few hundred Simoleons more each day than the other branch.
Angel Investors need to be both Charismatic and Logical to know which stocks to pursue and how much to spend on each, but upon reaching the final level of their career, they work four eight-hour shifts for a workweek total of only 32 hours a week. Thankfully it's not your family funds you're funding from, right?
3 Sim-In-Black Or Grand Marshall
Daily Pay | §3,376 |
---|---|
Career Track | Military - Either Branch |
Pack | Strangerville |
While the Strangerville Mystery was the main appeal for most when buying the Strangerville game pack, it came with quite a number of interesting additions, the Military career included. And though there are two branches - one focused on the daily tasks of Officers and the other pivoting into Covert Operations - both of their highest ranks earn the same amount of cash each day.

Sims 4: All The Worlds, Ranked
From Willow Creek to Henford-On-Bagley and everything in between. This is our ranking of every world in The Sims 4.
Both branches have one of the more standard workweeks in the game, requiring five eight-hour days that total the traditional 40-hour workweek, making this one of the busier careers in The Sims 4 in addition to one of the most lucrative. Both branches require you to max your Logic, and while Officers need to sharpen their Charisma skills, Covert Ops agents require the Fitness skill instead.
2 Smuggler
Daily Pay | §3,717 |
---|---|
Career Track | Astronaut - Interstellar Smuggler |
Pack | Base Game |
Both the Astronaut career branches are pretty sweet in terms of what they entail, but they couldn't be more opposite one another, and though they say crime doesn't pay, the Smuggler branch has a vastly higher daily paycheck than the Ranger branch. Your Sim is risking their life out in the galaxy in the name of alien treasure, after all.
Your Smuggler will work only three days a week, but they'll be gone for nine hours each day, which totals out to a 27-hour workweek. Use the free time to do the space missions you need to complete your daily tasks (which offer some cool rewards if you're successful), master the Fitness skill, make great strides with your Logic skill, and tinker out in the yard to build up some Rocket Science skill while you're at it.
1 Diamond Agent
Daily Pay | §4,260 |
---|---|
Career Track | Secret Agent - Diamond Agent |
Pack | Base Game |
Nobody's stopping you from making an actual James Bond Sim, but why go through the trouble when any Sim can live his high-profile spy life through the Diamond Agent branch of the Secret Agent career? Requiring both Logic and Charisma, your Sim will be spying as they don their fancy CAS unlocks and earning the only paycheck over §4,000/day in The Sims 4 yet.
Your Sim has some pretty wild working hours, though. While they only work three days each week, their shifts are an astonishing 15 hours each, which gives them one of the busiest workweeks at 45 hours of work each week. In their free time, they'll be pursuing romantic interests, honing their Logical smarts, and trying to catch those pesky Villain Secret Agents who strayed.
