Get used to a more emboldened, more brazen PRC - at least so long as it’s ruled by the CCP.

Insightful, quick read on the future of NFTs written by a good friend and a smart guy. Recommend spending the 3 minutes. Worth the read! Derek S. #nfts https://lnkd.in/dp6HM_uw

Need more of this kind of statement these days - but using less conventional methods - to demonstrate unorthodoxy, capability, resilience, and ubiquity in order to effect BOTH military and economic deterrence. #standuptoChina https://lnkd.in/dp_NDBj6

#CFIUS is one avenue for addressing this type of threat to Americans’ and U.S. national security, but it is alone inadequate. Congress needs to pass overarching legislation that sews up the seams of the current patchwork strategy, ensuring data privacy and making it unlawful for U.S. businesses to share sensitive personal data, critical or emerging technologies or material non-public technical information with #China as a cost of doing business in that environment. By providing a legal basis for a counterargument to what #China is requiring, American industry will be better positioned to #standuptoChina and resist the demands that are currently required for access to the Chinese market.

For those interested in seeing exactly where the concern over Huawei stems from, this is a must read. Spoiler alert: the remotely exploitable vulnerabilities in these Chinese-made routers were deliberately inserted in the manufacturing process. Let that sink in for a minute. Compounding the concern, as the article states, “It is near impossible to discuss vulnerabilities in Chinese hardware or software without acknowledging the Chinese government’s position on national and international surveillance. In essence, the current Chinese government, under Xi Jinping, has turned its resources heavily towards gathering as much data as it can about its citizens locally and globally, and its competitors – both in terms of corporations and governments.” #china #cybersecurity #surveillance #huawei
