Peanut butter fudge meets rich chocolate fudge in ribbon fantasy fudge — a homemade layered candy recipe from the 80s that is as easy-to-make as it is delicious.
Ribbon fantasy fudge (1981)
Kraft marshmallow creme is the secret ingredient.It’s whipped and light. Along with the peanut butter, it makes this traditional favorite extra fancy and so easy.

Ribbon fantasy fudge (1981)

Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Peanut butter fudge meets rich chocolate fudge in ribbon fantasy fudge -- a delicious homemade layered candy recipe from the '80s.
Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 5-1/3 ounces evaporated milk
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 7 ounces Kraft marshmallow creme
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (crunchy or creamy style)
Instructions
- Combine 1-1/2 cups sugar, 6 tablespoons butter, and 1/3 cup milk in a heavy 1-1/2 quart saucepan.
- Bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly.
- Continue boiling 4 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
- Remove from heat; stir in chocolate pieces until melted.
- Add 1 cup marshmallow creme and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract; beat until well blended.
- Pour into greased 13- by 9-inch pan.
- Repeat the above steps substituting peanut butter for chocolate pieces.
- Spread over the chocolate layer.
- Cool at room temperature; cut into squares. Makes 3 pounds.
